Research In Motion is all set to launch the new BlackBerry Curve in India next week, we can now confirm. It is most likely to be the Curve 9360, the 3G variant, which will be priced under Rs 20,000. The smartphone runs on the latest BlackBerry 7 OS and sports a sleeker 11mm form-factor (as compared to 13mm on the Curve 9300). Other specifications include a snappier 800MHz processor, 512MB of RAM, 5.0 MP camera with geo-tagging, flash and VGA video recording, up to 5 hours of talk-time and Wi-Fi connectivity. The display has also been ramped up from QVGA (320×240 pixels) to HVGA+ (480×360 pixels). The Curve launch will soon be followed by the Torch 9860, which features an all-touchscreen form-factor (3.7-inches, 480×800 pixels). We will keep our eyes peeled for more details as they come, so stay tuned.
UPDATE: We have been able to confirm it is the other way around. BlackBerry will launch the Torch 9860 this week followed by the Curve 9360 in the first week of October.
