We have previously reported in great detail that Samsung could launch an 8-inch version of its Galaxy Note 10.1 tablet at the Mobile World Congress (MWC). Even Samsung s head of mobile JK Shin more or less confirmed that the product would launch at MWC and yesterday we reported that a document was leaked suggesting a March launch for the product. Now, the DigiTimes is reporting that Samsung is trying to peg the Galaxy Note 8.0 as an iPad mini competitor, and it might try and price it lower than $300 (Rs 16,149). It actually could price it in-between $249 (Rs 13, 409) and $299 ((Rs 16,095), which would make it around $30 (Rs 1,614) cheaper than the base price of the iPad mini. Now this would definitely threaten the iPad mini in terms of specs and price because the Galaxy Note 8.0 is expected to be powered by a quad-core Exynos processor that will have a clock speed of 1.5GHz. Additionally, it will have 2GB of RAM, an 8-inch display with a 1280×800 pixel resolution, 16GB of storage and the latest version of Android Jelly Bean – 4.2. Additionally, it will also come equipped with Samsung s S-Pen stylus. Also Read - Samsung Galaxy A22 5G India launch nearing as support page goes live
In comparison, the iPad mini uses a lower resolution display, an Apple A5 processor that was launched with the iPad 2 in 2011 and it does not have support for pen-input.
