Lee Kun-hee, chairman of Samsung Electronics has survived a cardiac arrest and is now recovering, Reuters reports. According to a statement released by Samsung, Lee was rushed to hospital after he complained of breathing difficulties and other symptoms of heart attack, however is now in stable condition.

Under Lee’s leadership, Samsung has witnessed a surge in its market cap by 137 fold to reach 435 trillion won. The company is now likely to restructure the management and transfer the ownership to the next generation members. It is speculated that Lee’s son Jay Y Lee who is currently the vice chairman of Samsung Electronics would be succeeding him as chairman of the company’s South Korean unit.
