As we move towards the end of the year, companies are prepping for next year’s launches. The latest to be hit by the rumor mill is Samsung‘s yet-to-be-announced set of Galaxy A5 (2018) and Galaxy A7 (2018) smartphones. This year, the company launched the ‘upper premium’ phones continuing with the glass and metal design. Now, their successors have been detailed in fresh renders, giving us an idea about what stays the same, and what all changes about the phones. Based on the renders, both the Galaxy A5 (2018) and Galaxy A7 (2018) appear to feature similar glass and metal design as seen on the current models. The smartphones are also seen sporting matte black and silver colors. Although it had been rumored that the 2018 edition of the phones will feature the dedicated Bixby button, the renders do not suggest so. In the past, the Galaxy A5 (2018) and Galaxy A7 (2018) have been rumored to get Galaxy S8-like Infinity Display with narrow bezels and no physical buttons on the front. The renders appear to fall in line with the rumors and showcase the devices with minimal bezels on the side, and no physical button on the front. At the back, there appears to be single camera sensors along with a dedicated fingerprint sensor. Now, we are not sure if this will double up as the home button.
The smartphones are speculated to be equipped with Exynos 7885 SoC with 4GB of RAM. The Galaxy A5 (2018) is likely to pack a 5.5-inch full HD display while the Galaxy A7 (2018) is expected to feature a larger 6-inch display. Other features expected include a side-positioned speaker, 3.5mm headphone jack, and USB Type-C based charging port. Although the company is yet to make an official announcement about the existence of the smartphones, it is expected that the Galaxy A5 (2018) and Galaxy A7 (2018) will be launched sometime early next year during CES.
