Samsung announced the Galaxy A5, the first metal-clad phone in its mid-range offerings last month. The company, however, hadn’t revealed the pricing details with the announcement. We may now have a fair idea about that, as the phone recently got listed on the company’s China website for CNY 2599 (Rs 26,000 approximately). As far as the specifications of the Galaxy A5 are concerned, the phone sports a 5-inch display with HD (1280×720 pixels) screen resolution. Inside the device sits a 1.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon processor, paired with 2GB of RAM, and 16GB of internal storage which can be expanded via a microSD card. On the camera front, the phone packs a 13-megapixel shooter at the rear, and a 5-megapixel snapper upfront. It comes with a 2,300mAh battery to keep the device running. On the software front, the phone comes with Android 4.4.4 KitKat out of the box. Also Read - Top 5G smartphones under Rs 20,000 in August 2021: Samsung A22 5G, Redmi Note 10T, etc
But the most noticeable feature of the phone is its metal body, which it first used on the Galaxy Alpha. The company has received lots of flak over the past few years for using plastic to make the body of the phone, and that has evidently affected the sales of its smartphones as well. In the recent quarterly earnings, the company promised to fundamentally reform its handset.
While the smartphone is listed on the company’s Chinese website, there is still no word on when it would launch in India, or at what price.
