After launching the Galaxy Note 9 in August, Samsung introduced the Galaxy A8 Star, Galaxy J4+ and Galaxy J6+ in India, and also the Galaxy Watch. Now, the company is all set to launch a new smartphone in the A-series on September 25 in India. The company has started teasing the same on Instagram and Twitter handles, and the device in question is none other than the recently announced Galaxy A7 (2018), which comes with triple rear cameras. Huawei was the first smartphone maker to introduce triple rear cameras with the P20 Pro, and the upcoming Mate 20 is also set to sport the same camera setup. The Galaxy A7 (2018) is the first Samsung phone to come with this kind of setup, which includes – a 24 megapixel primary sensor with f/1.7 aperture lens, a secondary 8-megapixel ultra-wide sensor with F/2.4 aperture lens for wide-angle photos, and a 5-megapixel sensor with f/2.2 aperture lens which acts as a depth sensor for bokeh effects. The ultra-wide angle lens used on the Galaxy A7 (2017) has a 120-degree viewing angle which happens to be the same as the human eye. Other camera features on the smartphone include Selfie Focus, Pro Lighting Mode, AR Emoji, filters and even the AI-based Scene Optimizer as seen on the Galaxy Note 9. The front camera on the Galaxy A7 (2018) has a 24-megapixel resolution with f/2.0 aperture lens, and it supports face unlock too. Samsung Galaxy A7 (2018) specs and features
The Galaxy A7 (2018) features a 6-inch FHD+ (1080×2220) Super AMOLED Infinity display with an aspect ratio of 18.5:9. Under the hood, it is powered by an octa-core SoC clocked at 2.2GHz but Samsung has not mentioned whether it is an Exynos, Qualcomm or MediaTek chipset. To keep things ticking there is a 3,300mAh battery, and the device runs on Android 8.0 Oreo OS.
In terms of RAM and storage options, you can choose between 4GB RAM with 64GB variant, 4GB RAM with 128GB, and 6GB RAM with 128GB variants. Support for microSD cards up to 512GB is also present. Samsung has also included features such as Dolby Atmos, Samsung Pay, and Bixby (without Bixby Voice support). There is also a side-mounted fingerprint scanner as seen on the new Galaxy J-series devices.
There is no word on the pricing yet, but Samsung teaser reveals that it will be available exclusively via Flipkart.
