The Indian smartphone market sees major competition in the entry-level and affordable segments. The premium segment, which is somewhere above Rs 30,000 has contenders like the OnePlus 6 and the Asus Zenfone 5Z offering top of the line hardware for half the cost compared to Google Pixel, Samsung and HTC smartphones. The recently launched Poco F1 is trying to redefine the segment by offering premium specs at the price of a mid-range smartphone. And to compete with these, Samsung has launched the Galaxy A8 Star in India.
The Galaxy A8 Star does not feature top of the line specifications, but focuses more on premium features that you often see on the company’s flagship Galaxy S and Note series. These include an AMOLED display, Bixby assistant and Samsung Pay with NFC tech to name a few. We pitted the Samsung Galaxy A8 Star with the Poco F1, OnePlus 6 and Asus Zenfone 5Z, and here’s how they compete based on their price, specifications and features.
