Samsung has announced two new gradient color finish for its Galaxy A8s smartphone. The Galaxy A8s was introduced in December as the first smartphone to go on sale with a hole punch display design. The gradient finish were shown off by the company last month and now, the Korean company has confirmed that they will be available for purchase starting Valentine’s Day. While the initial colors of Galaxy A8s were gradient as well, they were much subdued in terms of looks and appearance. The new colors are much bolder and try to challenge the gradient finish phones from Huawei, Honor and Oppo.
The Google translated page for Samsung‘s Chinese website suggests these new colors will be available as Unicorn Editions, Sammobile reports. The Galaxy A8s is the most advanced device from Samsung with a modern design featuring in-screen camera system. It features a 24-megapixel selfie shooter with f/2.0 aperture and 1080p video recording. At the back, the Galaxy A8s is equipped with triple camera setup comprising of 24-megapixel sensor with f/1.7 aperture, 10-megapixel secondary shooter and a third 5-megapixel sensor for depth sensing.

The Galaxy A8s comes with a 6.4-inch Full HD+ display supporting taller 19:9 aspect ratio. It is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 chipset coupled with 6GB or 8GB of RAM and 128GB internal storage. The Galaxy A8S features a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor and supports WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, NFC and 4G LTE. It runs Android 9 Pie and is backed by a 3,400mAh battery. In terms of pricing, the Galaxy A8s was launched at a starting price of RMB 2,999 (around Rs 30,500) for the base variant with 6GB of RAM. At the time of writing, the pink gradient finish on Galaxy A8s with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage is listed on Samsung China for RMB 2,799 (around Rs 29,300).
