Over the years, smartphone cameras have evolved, and how, we went from single camera sensors to to dual, and now, the latest Galaxy A9 (2018) comes with quad cameras at the back. Yes, you read that right, Samsung is the first company to fit four cameras on the back of a smartphone. Unveiled in Malaysia last month, Samsung has now brought the smartphone to the Indian shores.
Samsung Galaxy A9 (2018) price in India and availability
The Galaxy A9 (2018) will be offered in Lemonade Blue, Caviar Black and Bubblegum Pink color options. The 6GB RAM and 128GB storage variant is priced at Rs 36,990, whereas the 8GB RAM with 128GB storage will be priced at 39,990. It will be sold via Flipkart, Amazon India, Paytm Mall and Samsung’s eShop starting November 28. Pre-orders for the same begin today. Samsung has also partnered with HDFC bank to offer Rs 3,000 cashback on buying the smartphone.

Samsung Galaxy A9 (2018) specifications and features
As mentioned above, the highlight of the phone is the quad camera setup. It includes a 24-megapixel primary camera of f/1.7 aperture, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide sensor, a 10-megapixel telephoto lens offering 2X optical zoom, and a 5-megapixel depth sensor of f/2.2 aperture. Up front is a 24-megapixel selfie snapper.
Talking about the hardware, the Samsung Galaxy A9 (2018) flaunts a 6.3-inch AMOLED display with 2220×1080 pixel resolution, and 18.5:9 aspect ratio. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 SoC with 8GB of RAM and 128GB storage, and a microSD card slot with support up to 512GB.
In terms of security, there is a fingerprint scanner placed at the back, and support for Face Unlock is also available. To keep things ticking, there is a 3,800mAh battery with fast charging. Connectivity options include USB Type-C port, and 3.5mm audio jack. On the software front, the smartphone runs Android 8.0 Oreo out-of-the-box with Samsung Experience UI on top. There is also built-in support for Samsung Pay.
