The Galaxy A9 (2018) is the first Samsung smartphone to boast a quad-camera setup at the back.

As expected, Samsung has today launched its first smartphone with a quad-camera setup at the back. The smartphone, called Galaxy A9 (2018), has been unveiled at an ongoing event in Malaysia. Read on to find out everything about this new Samsung smartphone.

Samsung hasn’t really revealed the official price of the Galaxy A9 (2018). Instead it says that the device will be available in select markets starting November. Buyers will be able to choose from color options include Caviar Black, Lemonade Blue, and Bubblegum Pink.

The highlight of this new Samsung smartphone is clearly the quad-camera setup at the back. After recently launching the Galaxy A7 (2018) with three cameras at the back, the South Korean company has taken things to the next level with the Galaxy A9 (2018).

In line with the leaks, you can see four camera modules arranged in a vertical manner at the top-left corner. Below the module is a LED flash. The setup includes a 24-megapixel f/1.7 main camera, 10-megapixel f/2.4 telephoto lens for 2X optical zoom, 8-megapixel 120-degrees ultra wide-angle lens, and a 5-megapixel f/2.2 depth camera for live focus.

Samsung Galaxy A9 (2018) specifications

As far as specifications are concerned, the Galaxy A9 (2018) features a 6.3-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with 18.5:9 aspect ratio. Under the hood is a 2.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 SoC paired with 6GB or 8GB of RAM depending upon the market. There is 128GB storage on board, which can be expanded up to 512GB using a microSD card.

For security, there is a fingerprint sensor placed at the back, as well as support for Face Unlock. Making sure everything ticks is a 3,800mAh battery. Connectivity options include USB Type-C port, and 3.5mm audio jack. On the software front, the device runs Android 8.0 Oreo out-of-the-box with Samsung Experience UI on top. There is also built-in support for Samsung Pay.
