After hearing about the upcoming Samsung Galaxy A9 for months, yesterday we came across its specifications and features courtesy of a couple of leaked press photos. Now, in a leaked video, the smartphone poses alongside the Galaxy A7 (2016), which was unveiled by Samsung earlier this month. The leaked video was posted on China’s Youku, which shows both smartphones in its full glory running side by side. The video shows the front and rear side of both smartphones and also the buttons and ports placement. Both smartphones feature a metal frame and a physical home button below the screen, which also doubles as a fingerprint scanner. The second gen Galaxy A-series smartphones also features a glass back design, just the Galaxy S6-family and the Galaxy Note 5. Both the Galaxy A9 and the Galaxy A7 (2016) are equipped with an octa-core SoC, 3GB of RAM, 13-megapixel rear camera with OIS (optical image stabilization) among others. The only distinguishing factor is the screen size and battery. The Galaxy A9 sports a 6-inch full HD (1080p) display and a 4,000mAh battery, whereas the A7 (2016) is equipped with a 5.5-inch full HD (1080p) display and a 3,300mAh battery.
Samsung Galaxy A9 specifications and features: It flaunts 6-inch Super AMOLED full HD (1080p) display and is powered by Qualcomm’s 1.8GHz Snapdragon 620 octa-core processor, paired with 3GB of RAM, Adreno 510 GPU, 32GB onboard storage and a microSD card slot.
Other features include a 13-megapixel auto-focus rear camera with OIS (optical image stabilization) and LED flash, an 8-megapixel front facing camera for selfies, and a 4,000mAh battery. Usual set of connectivity options such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0 LE, and GPS are also present. It runs on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop with Samsung’s TouchWiz UI running atop.
In comparison, the Galaxy A7 (2016) features a 5.5-inch Super AMOLED full HD (1080p) and is powered by a 1.6GHz octa-core processor. It is paired with 3GB of RAM, 16GB onboard storage and a microSD card slot.
Other features include a 13-megapixel rear camera with f/1.9 aperture and OIS (optical image stabilization) and 5-megapixel front camera with f/1.9 aperture and a 3,300mAh battery with support for fast charging feature. In terms of connectivity, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, NFC and support for dual-SIM 4G LTE is present. The smartphone runs on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop wrapped under Samsung’s TouchWiz UI.
