Towards the end of last year, Samsung unveiled the Galaxy A9 smartphone in China. While the smartphone has yet to launch in India, Samsung already seems to be working on a ‘Pro’ variant. The Galaxy A9 Pro is listed on the benchmark website with a model name SM-A9100, spotted by Steve Hemmerstoffer. This is the same model number that was spotted on India s import-export site Zauba, when it arrived for testing. The listing revealed a price tag of Rs 24,179, but this is for the prototype, and the commercial variant is likely to be higher.
Samsung Galaxy A9 Pro specifications and features: As per the benchmark website, the Galaxy A9 Pro features a full HD (1920×1080 pixels) display and earlier leaks point at a 5.5-inch screen. Considering the Galaxy A9 sports a 6-inch screen and the Pro moniker on the leaked variant, we would advise you to take this information with a pinch of salt.
Under the hood is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 652 chipset paired with Adreno 510 GPU, and one of the highlights is the 4GB of RAM. On the photography front, the smartphone also features a 16-megapixel rear camera and an 8-megapixel selfie camera. It also features 32GB internal storage and it runs on Android Marshmallow.
In comparison, the Galaxy A9 was announced featuring a 6-inch 1080p display, Snapdragon 652 chipset, 3GB of RAM, 32GB internal storage, and a microSD card slot.
It also features a 13-megapixel f/1.9 rear camera with optical image stabilization, 8-megapixel selfie camera, 4,000mAh battery with Quick Charge support, fingerprint scanner, and connectivity options like 4G LTE support, GPS and NFC. On the software front, it runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop.
