One of Samsung s older smartphones, the Galaxy A9 Pro, could soon be receiving the Android 7.0 Nougat update. The Galaxy A9 pro running Android 7.0 Nougat was spotted on benchmarking websites GFXBench and Geekbench. The smartphone currently runs on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow. This indicates that Samsung could be rolling out Android 7.0 Nougat update for the Galaxy A9 Pro soon. With Android O due to launch in just a few months, the Android 7.0 Nougat update on Galaxy A9 Pro seems pretty late. However, that s not surprising considering how the Android OS development takes a long time since its official rollout. In fact, the Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge received the Android 7.0 Nougat update this January only. Samsung hasn t announced anything official but a sighting as such does hint on an imminent rollout.
Samsung had launched the beefed up version of the Galaxy A9, the Galaxy A9 Pro in China last March. The Galaxy A9 Pro was later launched in India in September for Rs 32,490 but saw a price cut this year bringing it down to Rs 29,900 on Flipkart. The main highlights of the Galaxy A9 Pro are its 6-inch display and its 5,000mAh battery. In terms of design, the phablet features a glass-metal body with narrow bezels. There are three color options available for the Galaxy A9 Pro which includes gold, black and white. The Galaxy A9 Pro s 6-inch display has Full HD Super AMOLED resolution with Corning s Gorilla Glass 4 protection. Under the hood of the smartphone, runs Qualcomm s Snapdragon 652 octa-core processor clocked at 1.8GHz processor. The phablet comes with 4GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage which can be further expanded via a microSD card. In the photography department, the Galaxy A9 Pro sports a 16-megapixel rear camera with optical image stabilization (OIS) and LED flash. The Galaxy A9 Pro s 5,000mAh is said to provide up to 32 hours of talktime and over 20 days on standby mode. The battery also comes with support for Fast Charging. The connectivity options available on the phablet include dual-SIM support, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11, and Bluetooth v4.2.
