Samsung s smartphone line-up is an expansive one, and includes everything from budget offerings to flagships. Samsung launched the Galaxy C7 and Galaxy C5 Pro in 2016 and 2017 respectively, in China. While the Galaxy C7 ran Android Marshmallow out-of-the-box, the Galaxy C5 Pro came with Android Nougat. However, it seems that the chaebol hasn t forgotten about these two, as it has started seeding Android Oreo update for both smartphones.
Spotted by The Android Soul, the Oreo update for Galaxy C7 bears software identifier C7000ZCU3CRH3. On the other hand, Galaxy C5 Pro s Oreo update comes with software identifier C5018ZMU1CRH2. The update also comes bundled with security patches (up to August for Galaxy C7, and June for Galaxy C5 Pro) for the two smartphones.
As is always the case with OTA rollouts, the update is being seeded in a phased manner, so it may take a while to show up on the two smartphones.
