The Galaxy Camera is no ordinary camera as it is powered by Android 4.1 Jelly bean. It features a 4.8-inch S-LCD panel with a resolution of 1280×720 pixels, a quad-core exynos processor clocked at 1.4GHz, and a 16-megapixel sensor with 21x optical zoom. Additionally it also supports 3G networks via a microSIM slot though it does not function as a phone. It also has a microSD card slot. Samsung also preloads the Galaxy Camera with a number of custom applications that are meant for photography. Apart from this, users can also download popular apps like Instagram from the Google Play store to enrich their photography experience. The Galaxy Camera is not alone in this market as Nikon enjoys the first mover’s advantage with its CoolPix S800c Android camera that runs on an outdated version of Android called gingerbread. That said it also has a 16-megapixel sensor but that only support 10x of Optical zoom and a smaller 3.5-inch display. Keeping all this in mind, one has to admit that the Nikon CoolPix S800c is also a good Rs 9,000 cheaper at Rs 20,950.
