Back in May, Samsung announced a new Android smartphone called the Galaxy Core, though there was no word on when the device would come to our shores. The device has now been listed on Samsung’s India e-store, though there is still no mention of a price.
The Galaxy Core, as we have reported before, flaunts a 4.3-inch WVGA (800×480 pixels) display and is powered by a 1.2GHz dual-core processor paired with 1GB of RAM. Other features included on the smartphone are a 5-megapixel rear camera with LED Flash, VGA camera at the front, 8GB of internal storage that can be expanded up to 64GB using a microSD card, and a 1,800mAh battery. Connectivity-wise, the device features dual-SIM card slots, 3G support, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS and on the software side of things, the Galaxy Core runs on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean with TouchWiz UI layer on top. The device also comes pre-loaded with apps like Smart Stay, Smart Alert, Motion UI and S Voice that have been seen on other Samsung devices as well. In addition to the India e-store, the Galaxy Core is also available for pre-order on e-commerce stories like Saholic, Flipkart and Infibeam, and though there’s no mention of a price, the fact that it is on these stores means we can expect a launch in the coming days.
