Samsung is almost ready with the successor of the popular Galaxy Grand 2, which it launched late last year. The forthcoming smartphone was spotted on a benchmarking site last month, and now has cropped up on China’s Telecommunication Equipment Certification Center, PhoneArena reports. According to the listing, the Galaxy Grand 3 will sport a 5.25-inch 720p display, as opposed to the 5.5-inch display revealed by the benchmarking site. It will also be thinner and lighter than its predecessor with dimensions of 146×74.8×7.95mm, and weighing in at 140 grams. In comparison, the Galaxy Grand 2 sports dimensions of 146.8×75.3×8.9mm, and weighs 163 grams. From what we have heard so far, the Galaxy Grand 3 will be powered by a 1.2 GHz 64-bit Snapdragon 410 quad-core processor paired with 1.5GB of RAM. It is also likely to feature 13-megapixel rear camera, 5-megapixel front-facing camera, 16GB internal storage, and on the software front, it will run on Android 4.4.4 KitKat. From the photos and the leaked specifications, the Galaxy Grand 3 seems to be but a minor upgrade over its predecessor. There is no word on when Samsung plans on launching the device as well.
