We have earlier reported about Samsung working on another Galaxy Grand smartphone, named as the Galaxy Grand Neo. Adding to these rumors, GSMarena has been tipped about the specifications of this phone, which suggest it would be be a mid-range smartphone with 5-inch display and a quad-core chipset. Reportedly, the Galaxy Grand Neo will flaunt a 5-inch TFT WVGA (800×480 pixels) display, which was earlier seen on the company’s first Galaxy Grand smartphone. At its heart will reside a 1.2GHz quad-core A7 chipset coupled with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage.
The phone will sport a 5-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, and a VGA front-facing camera. Connectivity options will include the standard features like Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, HSPA+ (21Mbps down, 5.76Mbps up), GPS and GLONASS support. The leaked specs also show that the phone will not support LTE.
On the software front, the Galaxy Grand Neo will be powered by Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, which is an older version of the OS. Considering that the Galaxy Grand 2 is running on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean, we might as well see the Galaxy Grand Neo running on this version of Android.
Going by what the report suggests, it is likely to be launched for €299 in Europe, which translates to Rs 25,338. However, considering that Samsung has placed the Galaxy Grand 2 in the Rs 22,990 to Rs 24,990 price range, we doubt if the Galaxy Grand Neo would cost more than this one, especially with this set of features. The phone is likely to be placed between the Galaxy Grand Galaxy Grand 2. Also Read - Gorilla Glass DX, DX+ to now protect your phone cameras, will debut on a Samsung phone
