Samsung has been reported to launch its first Android Go smartphone as the Galaxy J2 Core soon. The device has been subject to few leaks already, but nothing’s revealed officially yet. Now according to a new leak, the entry-level Android Go smartphone will come in as many as five different color variants.
The alleged Galaxy J2 Core render has been posted by SamMobile on Twitter, which reveals the back side of the smartphone in five different colors including blue and purple. The tweet mentions model Galaxy J2 Core/SM-J260x as Samsung’s Android Go smartphone. The tweet reads, “here is Samsung’s Android Go smartphone (Galaxy J2 Core / SM-J260x) in multiple colors, including blue and purple.”
Previously, an alleged Russian user manual of the smartphone was leaked giving some insight into its design. The image manual referred the smartphone as SM-J260, which is what previous rumors had also suggested. The document carried two sets of schematics, one of which showcases the front and back panel of the smartphone and one that sheds light on the internals.
Adding to the existence of Samsung Galaxy J2 Core, there was a listing on Bluetooth Special Interest Group (SIG), which pretty much confirmed the upcoming smartphone’s name. The listing, spotted by SamMobile, had mentioned the name Samsung Galaxy J2 Core. It also mentioned seven model numbers, which are being currently tested. These include the SM-J260F, SM-J260M, SM-J260Y, SM-J260F_DS, SM-J260G_DS, SM-J260M_DS, and SM-J260Y_DS.

As you expect from Google’s Android Go initiative, the smartphone will provide smooth user experience despite the meager specifications. But leaks claim that the device won’t run stock Android. Instead, it will run Android 8.1 Oreo wrapped under Samsung’s Experience Skin. It will also have all the Google Go apps preloaded.
