The Samsung Galaxy J3 (2017) has been subjected to a lot of leaks over the past few months. The Galaxy J3 (2017) will be successor to the Samsung Galaxy J3 (2016), which was launched in March this year for Rs 8,990. Lately, the smartphone has been spotted on several benchmark sites while leaked photos along with other details about the smartphone have also been leaked online. Revealed by reliable leakster @evleaks, the smartphone seems to have a similar design as that of the Galaxy J3 (2016) and comes with model number SM-J327P. The leaked image shows the front of the smartphone. The front has home button and the usual set of capacitive touch buttons at the bottom. We can expect the home button to double up as the fingerprint scanner. Going by the TENAA listing, which revealed some images of the Galaxy J3 (2017), the smartphone is expected to feature a full-metal design and is said to be available in gold and grey color variants. The leaked image shows the same. While the power button is on the right hand side, volume rockers are on the left side. Samsung Galaxy J3 (2017) specifications
From what we know so far, the Galaxy J3 (2017) will feature a 5-inch full HD (1920×1080 pixels) AMOLED display. However, the smartphone is said to come in two variants — one with a HD display, while the other with a full HD display. The smartphone is said to be powered by a Snapdragon 430 SoC, however the storage capacity is not known at the moment. But few reports suggest that the smartphone might just come with 1.5GB of RAM just like its predecessor.
On the photography front, the smartphone will sport an 8-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front camera. The smartphone will feature a 2,600mAh battery. We can also expect the smartphone to come with additional features like S-bike mode, which is also available on other J series smartphones.
In comparison, the Galaxy J3 (2016) comes with a 5-inch HD Super AMOLED display. Under the hood, the smartphone is powered by 1.5GHz quad-core processor paired with 1.5GB of RAM. It also includes 8GB internal storage, which can be further expanded using a microSD card. On the camera front, the Galaxy J3 (2016) sports an 8-megapixel rear camera with f/2.2 aperture, and a 5-megapixel selfie camera up front. It also features a 2,600mAh battery. Connectivity options include dual-SIM card slots, 4G LTE support with data saving mode, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth 4.1. On the software front, it runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop.
Talking about the pricing of the phone, the Galaxy J3 (2017) is said to be priced under $200, which is approximately around Rs 13,300. However, there is currently no word on when the smartphone will launch in India.
Besides the Galaxy J3 (2017), Samsung is also being rumored to soon launch a new smartphones under its C series. The company is likely to launch Galaxy C9, Galaxy C5 Pro and the Galaxy C7 pro. The Galaxy C5 Pro and the Galaxy C7 Pro are the successors to the Galaxy C5 and the Galaxy C7, which was launched earlier this year. Talking about the C9, the smartphone is said to come with 6GB of RAM. If this stands true, the C9 woud be Samsung’s first smartphone to come with 6GB of RAM.
The company is also planning to launch a smartphone in its A-series itself, Samsung is believed to be working on the Galaxy A5 (2017). This smartphone is rumored to feature a 5.2-inch display, octa-core Exynos 7880 processor, 13-megapixel rear camera, 3,000mAh battery with fast charging support, and Android Marshmallow.
