Samsung has rather quietly added two new mid-range smartphones to its Galaxy J-series. The new Galaxy J3 (2018) and the Galaxy J7 (2018) will be going on sale in the US sometime later this month. There’s however no word on the pricing or availability in other markets, including India.
Samsung Galaxy J3 (2018) specifications, features
The Samsung Galaxy J3 (2018) sports a 5-inch HD (1280×720 pixels) display. There’s no word on the processor or RAM of the smartphone, but Samsung does say that the device is backed by a “long-lasting” battery. For photography, the smartphone is equipped with an 8-megapixel camera at the back featuring a f/1.9 aperture, and accompanied by a LED flash. For selfies, there’s a 5-megapixel camera with f/2.2 aperture.
Samsung Galaxy J7 (2018) specifications, features
The Samsung Galaxy J7 (2018), on the other hand, features a 5.5-inch HD (1280×720 pixels) display. For photography, there’s a 13-megapixel camera at the back with f/1.7 aperture. Up front, there’s a 13-megapixel snapper with f/1.9 aperture.
While other details are scarce, Samsung says that both the new smartphones will feature Knox integration. They will also come preloaded with the Samsung+ app that offers real-time customer care support.
As the name suggests, these two smartphones will be the successors to last year’s Galaxy J3 (2017), and the Galaxy J7 (2018). The Galaxy J3 (2017) featured a 5-inch HD display, Exynos 7570 chipset, 1.5GB RAM, and 16GB internal memory. It also came with a 5-megapixel rear camera, 2-megapixel front camera and a 2,600mAh battery.
