The higher resolution display clearly gives the competitors an advantage compared to the inferior HD display on the Galaxy J5 (2016). Also, the K4 Note display can notch brightness to 450 nits, whereas the Le 1s offers an impressive brightness level of 500 nits. The Redmi Note 3, on the other hand, comes with Xiaomi s sunlight display, which automatically changes the contrast and brightness based on the ambient light.

The Redmi Note 3 is powered by Qualcomm s Snapdragon 650 hexa-core chipset, which includes two Cortex-A72 cores and four A53 cores. On the other hand, Lenovo s K4 Note has MediaTek s MT6753 64-bit octa-core processor under the hood paired with Mali T720-MP3 GPU and 3GB of RAM. It comes with 16GB of internal storage along with a microSD card slot and support for USB OTG.

In terms of software, the Galaxy J5 (2016) runs the latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow update wrapped under Samsung s TouchWiz UI, whereas the Redmi Note 3 runs on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop wrapped under MIUI 7, the Lenovo K4 Note runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop-based Vibe UI and the Le 1s runs on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop-based EUI skin.

The Le 1s gets a slight advantage as it also features fast charging feature which the company claims to offer talktime of up to three and half hours on five minutes of charging.

Connectivity: On the connectivity front, all smartphones include dual-SIM card slots, 4G LTE connectivity, GPS, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity. The Redmi Note 3 and Galaxy J5 (2016) also supports VoLTE connectivity. Also, while the Le 1s gets the latest USB Type-C connectivity port, other smartphones still feature microUSB connectivity port.

Other features: The Galaxy J5 (2016) features an all metal design, and the same goes with Redmi Note 3 and Le 1s as well. The Lenovo K4 Note features a metal-frame and a removable plastic back cover. Also, while the Galaxy J5 (2016) ditches a fingerprint scanner, the K4 Note, Le 1s and Redmi Note 3 have the scanner placed on the back for secured biometric authentication. Lenovo s K4 Note also includes dual-frontal speakers with Dolby ATMOS audio support, and TheaterMax VR technology that lets you watch any game or video in immersive large screen experience. For this, you will need an ANTVR headset which is priced at Rs 1,299 and exclusively available on Amazon India.

At the price point of the Galaxy J5 (2016), the LeEco Le 1s (Eco), Lenovo K4 Note and Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 are not only cheaper, but equipped with better hardware on paper. However, we will reserve our final judgment until we review all the devices.
