Samsung had launched the 2017 iteration of its Galaxy J series in Europe last month. The lineup includes the Galaxy J3 (2017), Galaxy J5 (2017) and the Galaxy J7 (2017). The Galaxy J7 (2017) was launched in India as the Galaxy J7 Pro along with the Galaxy J7 Max. Samsung will now launch the Galaxy J5 (2017) tomorrow in its home country, South Korea. According to a report by ETNews (spotted by The Android Soul), the smartphone will be launched with a price of 344,300 which rounds off to Rs 19,500 approximately. The smartphone retails for 279 (Rs 20,300 approximately). If launched in India, Samsung would probably price the Galaxy J5 (2017) around the same. The Galaxy J5 (2017) will be sold via three mobile operators in South Korea.
Consumers will have three color options available for the Galaxy J5 (2017) of black, blue and pink. Samsung made a design change with the J series smartphones this year. The Galaxy J5 (2017) flaunts a metal body and sports a galaxy S7-like look. The smartphone features a vertical camera module on the rear end with curved antenna bands on the top and bottom part. The Samsung Galaxy J5 (2017) features a 5.2-inch full HD Super AMOLED display. Under its hood, runs an octa-core Exynos 7870 processor clocked at 1.6GHz. The smartphone comes with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage which is further expandable via a microSD card. In the photography department, the smartphone features a 13-megapixel rear camera with f/1.7 aperture. Up front, the smartphone houses a 13-megapixel as well with f/1.9 aperture. The Galaxy J5 (2017) is fuelled by a 3,000mAh battery. On the software front, it runs on Android 7.0 Nougat with Samsung s custom UI on top. The smartphone also comes with a fingerprint sensor which is embedded on the home button. The fingerprint sensor further comes with support for Samsung Pay.
