Samsung is rolling out a software update for a trio of its smartphones. This update essentially introduces the Android November 2018 security patch on these smartphones.

The Samsung smartphones in question are the Galaxy J6+, Galaxy J4+, and the Galaxy J2 Pro. As per SamMobile, the firmware version for the Galaxy J6+ is ‘J610FNXXU1ARK4’, and it is currently being rolled out in Germany. The firmware version for the Galaxy J4+ is ‘J415FNXXU1ARK5’, and it is being rolled out in Ukraine. Lastly, firmware version ‘J250GDXU3ARK2’ is being rolled out to the Galaxy J2 Pro.

The highlight of the update is the rolling out of the November 2018 security patch. This patch fixes over 10 critical vulnerabilities in the Android OS, and nine Samsung Vulnerabilities and Exposures (SVE) items. Though the update is being rolled out in select countries, it is expected to get a wider roll out in the coming weeks.

The Galaxy J4+ and the Galaxy J6+ have been available in India for sometime now. Launched back in September, the smartphones are priced at Rs 10,990, Rs 15,990 respectively.

Both the devices flaunt a 6-inch HD+ Infinity Design display, and are powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 SoC. Both also share the same set of connectivity options. They however differ in the memory and photography departments. The Galaxy J4+ comes with 2GB of RAM, and 32GB internal storage. For photography, there is a 13-megapixel f/1.9 rear camera, and a 5-megapixel f/2.2 front camera.
