Earlier this year, Samsung launched the Galaxy J7 Nxt smartphone in India priced at Rs 11,490, and now the company has launched refreshed variant of the smartphone. The new variant is priced at Rs 12,990 and comes with 3GB of RAM and 32GB storage, compared to the earlier variant that came with 2GB of RAM and 16GB storage.
While Samsung hasn’t officially announced the launch of new variant, the news comes from reliable Mumbai-based retailer Mahesh Telecom. The smartphone has also been listed on the company’s online shopping portal (shop.samsung.com), but you can’t buy it yet. Samsung has also dropped the price of 2GB variant, which is now available for Rs 10,490. Besides more RAM and onboard storage, the new variant also comes with Samsung Pay Mini pre-installed, and support for AR (Augmented Reality) stickers.

The smartphone comes with a 5.5-inch Super AMOLED display and is powered by an octa-core SoC clocked at 1.6GHz and 3GB of RAM. In addition to 32GB onboard storage, a microSD card slot lets you expand up to 256GB.
In the photography department, the smartphone comes with a 13-megapixel rear camera of aperture f/1.9, and a front facing 5-megapixel snapper for selfies and video calling. With dual SIM card slots and 4G VoLTE support, the Galaxy J7 Nxt also comes with WiFi, Bluetooth and GPS connectivity.
Armed with a 3,000mAh battery, Samsung claims that the smartphone can offer audio playback time of up to 80 hours, video playback time of up to 17 hours and 3G talktime of up to 21 hours. On the software front, the smartphone comes with Android 7.0 Nougat wrapped under TouchWiz UI.
At the given price tag, the smartphone will compete with the likes of Xiaomi Redmi Note 4. You also have the Xiaomi Mi A1 and Honor 7X that feature dual-cameras at the back, and are available in the same price range.
