Samsung had launched refurbished units of the Galaxy Note 7 as the Galaxy Note Fan Edition (FE) in South Korea back in July. Within two months of its release, the Galaxy Note FE has reportedly been sold out with all 400,000 units of the phablet finding takers. Korea Herald reports that Samsung has no plans of restocking the Galaxy Note 7 FE in the country. This makes sense considering the company s key focus now being the two Galaxy S8 phones and the recently launched Galaxy Note 8. However, the report further states that Samsung could be launching the Galaxy Note 7 FE in global markets. Samsung had been rumored earlier of releasing the smartphone in select countries. As for India, Samsung confirmed to BGR India that it would not be launching the Galaxy Note 7 FE in the country. The Galaxy Note 7 FE was launched at a price of 699,600 Korean Won which translates to approximately Rs 39,600.
With the Galaxy Note 7 FE, Samsung made a minor but important change of using a smaller 3,200mAh battery. The original Galaxy Note 7 launched with a 3,500mAh battery. Also, the battery on the Galaxy Note FE is removable unlike how it was on the Galaxy Note 7. The rest of the specifications remains the same on the Galaxy Note FE which include a 5.7-inch Quad-HD Super AMOLED display with Gorilla Glass 5 protection.
