We are just a couple of hours away from Samsung s Unpacked event where it will be unveiling the much awaited Galaxy Note 8. The ‘Next Galaxy Unpacked Event,’ as the company calls it, will kick off at 8:30PM IST. The event will simultaneously take place at New York City and London. Samsung will be live streaming it and you can watch the telecast on your smartphones and laptops on-the-go. Samsung will be streaming the event live from New York on its official website. Alternatively, Samsung will be live streaming the launch event on its official YouTube channel Samsung Mobile channel as well. You can also head to samsung.com/galaxy to watch the keynote. Apart from that, Amazon India has also dedicated a special page for the live streaming of the Galaxy Note 8. In India, the Galaxy Note 8 expected to go on sale via the e-commerce platform.
The rumors mills have been flooded with teasers, renders and specifications of the Galaxy Note 8 in the past few months. If rumors are to be believed, the Galaxy Note 8 is expected to be Samsung’s most expensive Galaxy phone to date. According to a recent leak, there will be three variants of the phablet- 64GB, 128GB and 256GB storage paired with 6GB of RAM. Prices of the same are expected to be RMB 6,288 (approximately Rs 60,500), RMB 7,088 (approximately Rs 68,200), and RMB 7,988 (approximately Rs 76,900), respectively. Based on what we have come across so far, the Galaxy Note 8 is said to feature a 6.4-inch display with 1080 2220 pixels resolution. Under the hood will be a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC with Adreno 540 GPU, or Exynos 8895 SoC with Mali G71 GPU, depending on the region it is being sold. For photography, it is expected to sport a dual-camera setup at the back, which is believed either to be a combination of a 12-megapixel and an 8-megapixel sensor, or pair of 12-megapixel sensors. If the latter is true, reports suggest that out of the two, one would be a wide-angle lens with f/1.7 aperture, and the other a telephoto lens with f/2.4 aperture, and 2x optical zoom capabilities. Staying vary of what went down with the Galaxy Note 7, Samsung has been known to house a smaller 3,300mAh battery inside the Galaxy Note 8. The smartphone is rumored to run on Android 7.1.1 Nougat out-of-the-box.
