Samsung is yet to give its anticipated Galaxy Note 7 successor a name or release date but that is no reason for creative enthusiasts to go a step ahead and imagine how the phablet device would look like in real. In addition to concepts around the Galaxy Note 8, there have been series of leaks and revelations building hopes for fans who have been disappointed with last year s fiasco where the devices exploded at will. Last week we came across a leak where the front glass panel of the smartphone was teased. Now, the latest report indicates that the display on the purported Galaxy Note 8 would indeed be bigger as compared to the Galaxy Note 7. Shared by a Twitter user, the video is believed to be the first one related to the Galaxy Note 8 and shows off the front panel of the smartphone measuring 6.3-inches. If one compares it with the older Note 7, then the display is about 0.6-inch larger in size. In addition to being larger than the predecessor, the Galaxy Note 8 is speculated to take on the Infinity Display design of the Galaxy S8 lineup, which would undoubtedly further take up the viewing experience notches high. With a display measuring 6.3-inch, the Galaxy Note 8 would be the company s largest flagship smartphone ever. It is worth mentioning that Xiaomi has the Mi Max and the recently announced Mi Max 2 under its umbrella if one goes purely by the display size. To put into perspective, the Mi Max and the Mi Max 2 both feature a 6.44-inch full HD display. Although it is yet to be confirmed, if the Galaxy Note 8 is released with a 6.3-inch display, what would possibly set it apart is the Infinity Display with narrow side bezels.
Other than a larger display size, the Galaxy Note 8 is further rumored to feature a fingerprint sensor that could come layered beneath the display. The technology is similar to what Apple is rumored to use for its iPhone 8. Additionally, the Galaxy Note 8 could further pack a dual rear camera module a feature which did not make it to the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+, much to the disappointment of fans. Samsung is expected to take the wraps off its Galaxy Note 8 in sometime later this year. After last year s fiasco involving the Note 7, some analysts suggest that the company should do away with the Note series to save itself from further reputational damage or use a different moniker to resurrect the image of its otherwise popular phablet device. While it is unclear if that would happen, but the company did make a subtle change to its naming tradition by dropping Edge from its new lineup and instead using the more standard + (Plus) for its Galaxy S8 lineup.
