Two months away from the alleged launch of the Samsung Galaxy Note 8, leaks continue to pour in and with every new leak, we are getting to know more about the upcoming flagship phablet. The phablet as seen in the Weibo image reported on AndroidHeadlines, coincides with a couple of rumors seen in the past. There is a dual rear camera setup on the Galaxy Note 8, which is in line with previous rumors. This means the Galaxy Note 8 will be the first smartphone by Samsung to sport a dual-camera setup. Moreover, Samsung has apparently shifted position of the fingerprint scanner yet again. Instead of the rumored display-embedded sensor, the poster shows that it is placed at the back. The alleged relocated sensor is also in line with rumors. Samsung is reportedly still facing issues with manufacturing display-embedded fingerprint sensors. The issues are believed to be the same that prevented the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ from having this feature. Recent reports suggest, placing a fingerprint scanner on the display is leading to an uneven brightness on the smartphone. ALSO READ: Samsung Galaxy Note 8 to ape Galaxy S8 design, new leaks suggest
However, going by the image it seems Samsung is certainly taking complaints from its customers into consideration. With the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ users complained about the awkward placement of the fingerprint scanner, which is on left of the camera ring. The fingerprint scanner on Galaxy S8 smartphone often seemed hard to reach while using the smartphone single-handedly or in other case, users ended up smudging camera lens.
The image also suggests that Samsung is retaining the Infinity Display with thin bezels, with significantly increased screen-to-body ratio. The Bixby button is believed to be there as well, just beneath the volume rocker on the right side, while the power or the unlock button is seen on the left. Samsung Galaxy Note 8 will be also be accompanied with the S Pen stylus.
Based on earlier reports, the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 is expected to feature a Snapdragon 835 SoC , wireless charging support, and waterproofing and dust resistance. The phablet is expected to be unveiled in August. The Galaxy Note 8 is expected hits shelves in September this year, with pricing starting from around Rs 72,000, which will make it one of most expensive flagship device to launch this year.
