While right now, Samsung probably wishes all the attention stays on its recently launched Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+, it s impossible to stop the Samsung fanatics from anticipating the company s next move. Now that the flagship smartphones are here, the next move would perhaps be the successor of the infamous Galaxy Note 7, which Samsung had confirmed is under works. And so a purported image of the Galaxy Note 8 has been leaked, which if true, will also be the first look at the Galaxy Note 7 successor. This Samsung Galaxy Note 8, which was spotted on SlashLeaks, claims to be some version of the Galaxy Note 8. However, if you really look at it up close, it looks almost exactly like the new Galaxy S8+, accompanied by an S Pen (which gives it some Note vibes). Posted on April 8, even the trust score on SlashLeaks gives it only a 20 percent. Also Read - Flipkart Mobiles Bonanza sale top deals: iPhone SE, Poco X3 Pro and more on discount
And, because this leaked image only shows the face of the purported Galaxy Note 8, it can not really be confirmed if it even has a slot for the S Pen. Essentially, there’s no way to know if it’s actually a Galaxy Note prototype, or just a Galaxy S8+ posing with the Note’s key peripheral.
Although, the image does appear to conform to what’s described in earlier leaked specs. According to the schematics of the Galaxy Note 8 that was leaked, the smartphone features an ultra-thin or almost bezel-less display design. The Galaxy Note 8 was shown with a 6.4-inch Super AMOLED display with 4K resolution (3840 2160 pixels). The leak also suggested that the home button on the Galaxy Note 8 will be replaced by a speaker grille. Plus, it said that the left side of the Galaxy Note 8 would feature the volume rockers and the power button, with a dedicated Bixby button on the right. These physical button can just about be seen in the leaked image. ALSO READ: Samsung Galaxy Note 8: The next flagship could feature 6.4-inch 4K display with 256GB storage
Other than that, previous rumors have also revealed, that the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 will be powered by either Qualcomm s Snapdragon 835 chipset or Exynos 9-series chipset, which would depend on the region of sale. Samsung had recently unveiled the Exynos 9 Series 8895 which is an octa-core processor built on a 10nm process technology and also powers the new Galaxy S8. In terms of memory, the Galaxy Note 8 has been rumored to come with 6GB of RAM, and up to 256GB of internal storage. The 6GB RAM is believable as Samsung already has the Galaxy C9 Pro with 6GB of RAM. The 256GB storage option, however, hasn t been seen on a Samsung smartphone yet.
