Samsung Galaxy Note 9, the new flagship smartphone, was launched last week at an event in New York. The smartphone is already up for pre-orders in India, and its prices in India start at Rs 67,900. Ahead of its official availability in the country, major retailers have announced discounts and offers on the device.
Paytm Mall has announced that it will be giving some exciting offers to those pre-ordering the device. The e-commerce platform is offering a flat discount of Rs 6,000 on the Samsung Galaxy Note 9. Those buying the Galaxy Note 9 on the platform will get the discount in the form of Rs 6,000 cashback credited directly to their wallet. The cashback will be credited after 12 days of the shipment, the company said.
With the purchase of Galaxy Note 9, customers can also get Samsung’s Gear Sport smartwatch based on Tizen OS for just Rs 4,999. The Gear Sport, which retails for Rs 22,990, is getting discounted by approximately Rs 17,991. There is also option to get the smartphone with no-cost EMI option for either a period of three or six months.
Samsung Galaxy Note 9 Specifications and Price
The Galaxy Note 9 is the most premium device yet from the South Korean smartphone maker. It is being introduced as an iterative update to last year’s Galaxy Note 8, and it brings updated features, larger battery and feature upgrades to S Pen.
The smartphone features a 6.4-inch Quad HD+ Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 2960×1440 pixels, and 18.5:9 aspect ratio. The smartphone is powered by Samsung’s own Exynos 9810 chipset also found under the hood of Samsung Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+. The Galaxy Note 9 is available in two storage variants – a 6GB RAM model with 128GB storage, and an 8GB RAM variant with 512GB storage.
The Galaxy Note 9 borrows the dual rear camera system seen on the back of the Galaxy S9+. There is dual 12-megapixel rear cameras with the primary sensor supporting variable aperture of f/1.5 and f/2.4. The secondary 12-megapixel sensor aids in shooting portrait images and acts as telephoto lens. At the front, there is an 8-megapixel selfie shooter with f/1.7 aperture and autofocus.

With Galaxy Note 9, Samsung is returning to the basics of the Galaxy Note series. The smartphone comes with an updated S Pen that now supports Bluetooth LE, and can be used as remote shutter within camera or for controlling music playback, even with streaming music service. There is also a repositioned fingerprint sensor that resides right below the horizontally stacked dual rear camera setup.
The smartphone runs Android 8.1 Oreo, and is backed by a large 4,000mAh battery, which Samsung mobile president DJ Koh has confirmed will not catch fire. The Galaxy Note 9 is priced at Rs 67,900 for the base variant with 6GB of RAM and 128GB internal storage. The high-end model with 8GB of RAM and 512GB storage is priced at Rs 84,900.
