Chipset and RAM

Both, the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 and Galaxy S9+ are powered by the Exynos 9810 SoC or Snapdragon 845 SoC, which will be region dependent. The Galaxy Note 8, on the other hand, is powered by Snapdragon 835 or Exynos 8895 SoC, which again is region dependent. In terms of memory, both the Galaxy S9+ and Galaxy Note 8 come with 6GB of RAM, whereas the Galaxy Note 9 comes with 6GB RAM on the base model, and 8GB RAM on the top-end model.

Storage

Samsung has upgraded the base storage to 128GB for the Galaxy Note 9, and the other variant comes with 512GB onboard storage. There is also a hybrid microSD card slot with support for up to 512GB, which means you can have a total of 1TB storage on your phone.

The Galaxy Note 8 was offered in 64GB storage, and expandable up to 256GB via a microSD card, whereas the Galaxy S9+ comes with 64GB / 128GB or 256GB storage options, along with microSD card support.

Cameras

All three smartphones come with dual camera setup at the back. Up front, there is an 8-megapixel auto-focus camera for selfies and video calling, which is common on all smartphones. Talking about rear camera, the Galaxy Note 9 and Galaxy S9+ come with a 12-megapixel primary camera with dual aperture wide-angle lens (f/1.5 – f/2.4), paired with a 12-megapixel secondary camera with telephoto lens. The Galaxy Note 8, on the other hand, also comes with dual cameras at the back – one is a 12-megapixel camera with wide-angle lens and aperture of f/1.7, and the other is a 12-megapixel camera with telephoto lens. Just like the S9+ and Note 9, the secondary camera lets you add DSLR like bokeh effects to your photos or capture photos with 2X optical lossless zoom.

Both cameras on the three smartphones come with optical image stabilization (OIS) support, 4K video recording capabilities, and slow-motion video recording.
