Samsung is holding the Galaxy Note 9 launch at the Barclays Center in New York. The launch event is scheduled to start at 11AM local time on August 9 and in India, it will start at 8.30PM. The South Korean giant has announced that the launch event will be available for livestream via its YouTube page and also on its own website www.samsung.com.
In India, the rumors indicate that the Galaxy Note 9 will be available for pre-order starting August 10. It is expected to become available for purchase starting August 22. The leaks originating from Europe hints at the Galaxy Note 9 being priced at £899 in the UK for the base model. The pricing for the European variant roughly translates to Rs 80,000 with the exchange price. Samsung had launched the Galaxy Note 8 at Rs 67,900 in India and one can expect the Galaxy Note 9 to be available at the same price point. The Samsung Galaxy Note 9 is expected to be available online via Flipkart and the online retailer might offer discounts and offers on the smartphone. The Galaxy Note 9 comes in to fill the sales void left by the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+.

It is fairly evident that the Galaxy Note 9 will not be much different from its predecessor in terms of design. It is expected to feature a metal and glass sandwich design with rectangular dimensions. The smartphone is expected to feature a 6.4-inch Quad HD+ Super AMOLED display with 18.5:9 aspect ratio and Gorilla Glass 5 support.
The Galaxy Note 9 will get Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 or Exynos 9810 SoC under the hood and will come with 6GB or 8GB of RAM. The leaks so far claim that the Galaxy Note 9 will start with 6GB of RAM and 128GB storage while the premium model will offer 8GB RAM and 512GB storage. It will also come with support for expandable storage up to 1TB via a dedicated SD card slot.

On the camera front, the Galaxy Note 9 is likely to borrow the rear dual-camera modules from Galaxy S9+ but offer AI features similar to that of Huawei P20 Pro. It might come with an improved iris scanner for facial recognition. In terms of design change, the Galaxy Note 9 will have fingerprint sensor placed below the horizontally stacked dual rear camera setup.
As far as the S Pen is concerned, a leak claims that it will support Bluetooth functionality for controlling music playback. The button on the back of S Pen is said to act as remote shutter inside the camera app. The S Pen is already teased to come in a new glossy yellow color and leaks claim that there will be more color options this year. The Galaxy Note 9 will also house a larger 4,000mAh battery and come in three different colors.
