Soon after the ‘Unpacked 2018’ event in New York, the Galaxy Note 9 is making its way to the Indian markets. Samsung plans to launch the smartphone in India soon. And as the Flipkart teaser suggested, the smartphone could be available via the e-commerce site.
The successor to the Galaxy Note 8, the new Galaxy Note 9 comes with some upgrades in the form of dual-aperture cameras, a massive 4,000mAh battery with fast charging support, and a Bluetooth-enabled S Pen that lets you do more than taking notes and doodling. As of now, there is no word on the pricing yet, but considering that the Galaxy Note 8 was launched for Rs 67,990, the Note 9 price could hover around the same price range.

Samsung Galaxy Note 9 price, availability
The Galaxy Note 9 will be offered in two variants. The 6GB RAM with 128GB storage variant will set you back by $999 (Approximately Rs 68,700), whereas the 8GB RAM with 512GB storage variant will set you back by Rs $1,250 (Approximately Rs 85,900). The smartphone will be available to purchase from Flipkart and authorized retailers when it goes on sale.
Samsung Galaxy Note 9 specifications and features
The Galaxy Note 9 flaunts a 6.4-inch QHD+ Super AMOLED display with 18.5:9 aspect ratio, and it is covered with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. Under the hood, the smartphone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC in the US other markets, whereas India and other Asian countries are likely to get the Exynos 9810 variant. A microSD card slot with support for up to 512GB is also present.
In the photography department, the smartphone comes with a dual-camera setup at the back which includes a primary sensor of 12-megapixel resolution with wide angle lens where the dual aperture ranges between f/1.5 to f/2.4. The second camera is of 12-megapixel resolution and it comes with a telephoto lens of aperture f/2.4. The second camera enables portrait mode and 2X lossless zoom functionality.
Connectivity options on the smartphone include dual SIM card slots, 4G LTE with VoLTE HD voice calling, Bluetooth, GPS and Wi-Fi 802.11ac. In the software department, it runs on Android 8.0 Oreo with Samsung Experience UI on top. Samsung has also promised that it will soon be updating the Galaxy Note 9 to Android 9.0 Pie.
Besides these, the smartphone also includes features like the heart rate sensor, IP68 certification for water and dust resistance, Bixby voice and live translation feature. Just like the Galaxy S9-series, the Galaxy Note 9 also comes with stereo speakers and Dolby Audio enhancement for improved audio listening experience. And for biometric authentication, the smartphone includes Iris scanner, a fingerprint scanner and face unlock feature, which Samsung calls intelligent scan.
