The world saw the global launch of the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 in New York on August 9. And now the latest flagship smartphone is ready to be launched in India at an event in Delhi NCR at 12:30 PM today. The smartphone is likley to go on sale starting August 24.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 9 will be priced at Rs 67,900 for the 6GB RAM and 128GB internal storage variant, while the 8GB RAM and 512GB internal storage variant is priced at Rs 84,900. The Galaxy Note 9 will be available in three colors Midnight Black, Ocean Blue and Metallic Copper. The Metallic Copper is only available in 6GB RAM and 128GB internal storage variant. Samsung Galaxy Note 9 went for pre-orders last week.
The Note 9 comes with an additional special benefit of a Gear Sport smartwatch for Rs 4,999. Samsung has also tied up with Paytm Mall to offer a cashback of Rs 6,000 to buyers. For customers using a HDFC Bank debit or credit card, there will be an extra cashback of Rs 6,000.
Samsung Electronics President and CEO of IT & Mobile Communications Division, DJ Koh is on his first visit to India and will be addressing the attendees of the Galaxy Note 9 launch event in Delhi NCR. The live stream of the event can be watched live on the Samsung India website.
Samsung Galaxy Note 9 specifications and features
The Samsung Galaxy Note 9 may look similar to its predecessor and there are quite a few changes in the specs of the smartphone. It features a 6.4-inch QHD+ Super AMOLED display in 18.5:9 aspect ratio, with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. It uses an Exynos 9810 SoC to perform all its tasks and will have options for 6GB RAM and 128GB storage or 8GB RAM and 512GB storage. In the photography department, the Note 9 comes with a dual-camera setup at the back that includes two 12-megapixel sensors. For selfies, there’s an 8-megapixel sensor camera on the front.
For security, the phone uses a fingerprint sensor placed at the back, and there’s also the iris scanner along with a less secure face unlock feature. A microSD card slot is present for expanding internal memory that supports up to 2TB expansion. Other features include a heart-rate monitor, stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos support, and IP68 certification for water and dust resistance. The S Pen has again been improved this year, and now comes with Bluetooth support.

Connectivity options of the Note 9 include hybrid dual-SIM card slots, 4G VoLTE support, Bluetooth, GPS and Wi-Fi 802.11ac. In the OS department, it runs Android 8.0 Oreo with Samsung Experience UI on top.
