Samsung Galaxy Note 9 price in India starts at Rs 67,900; all you need to know

Prebooking for the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 begins in India with a bunch of offers.

Last night, Samsung took the wraps off its flagship Galaxy Note 9 smartphone at a global event in New York. The phablet is set to come to India, and the company has revealed when and at what price.

Buyers will be able to choose from two variants. The base model with 128GB storage and 6GB RAM is priced at Rs 67,900. The top-end model with 512GB storage and 8GB RAM, on the other hand, is priced at Rs 84,900. For comparison sakes, last year’s Galaxy Note 8 was launched with prices starting from Rs 67,990.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 9 is expected to go on sale in India soon. It will be available across retail and online stores. Buyers will also be able to take advantage of a bunch of launch date offers. If you prebook a Galaxy Note 9, you get the chance to buy a Gear Sport smartwatch for Rs 4,999 (retail price Rs 22,990). Prebookings start today, and will go on till August 21, which suggests that the actual sales could start from August 22.

Special benefits

In addition to the special benefit with the Gear Sport smartwatch for Rs 4,999, Samsung has also tied up with Paytm Mall offering a cashback of Rs 6,000 on the purchase of the Samsung Galaxy Note 9. If you use an HDFC Bank debit or credit cards, you get a cashback of Rs 6,000.

Samsung has also announced that the Samsung Upgrade Program offers an upgrade bonus of Rs 6,000 if you exchange your old smartphone for the new Galaxy Note 9, over and above the exchange value of your old smartphone.

Samsung may not have brought many changes on the design front, but there are plenty under the hood. The Galaxy Note 9 features a 6.4-inch QHD+ Super AMOLED display with 18.5:9 aspect ratio, and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. Under the hood is either a Snapdragon 845 SoC or an Exynos 9810 depending upon the region.

For photography, the device comes with a dual-camera setup at the back that includes two 12-megapixel sensors. For selfies, there’s an 8-megapixel snapper.

For security there’s a fingerprint sensor placed at the back, and there’s also face unlock feature. A microSD card slot is present for expanding internal memory. Other features include a heart-rate monitor, stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos support, and IP68 certification for water and dust resistance. The S Pen has again been improved this year, and now comes with Bluetooth support.

Connectivity options include dual-SIM card slots, 4G VoLTE support, Bluetooth, GPS and Wi-Fi 802.11ac. In the software department, it runs Android 8.0 Oreo with Samsung Experience UI on top.
