Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Note 9 on August 9 may come with an 8GB LPDDR4X mobile DRAM as the company starts mass producing it. The Samsung Newsroom post from last week announced the mass production of the company’s second generation 10-nanometer-class (1y-nm), LPDDR4X (Low Power Double Data Rate 4X) DRAM with improved efficiency, and low battery drainage meant for premium smartphones. With this LPDDR4X advancement, Samsung is looking to expand high-capacity 4GB, 6GB, and 8GB LPDDR4X RAM for the upcoming smartphones. The South Korean giant has created an 8GB LPDDR4X mobile DRAM package by combining four of the 10nm-class 16Gb LPDDR4X DRAM chips, which can achieve data rates of 34.1GB per second, and has 20 percent thickness reduced from the first-gen package. As it has been widely anticipated, that Samsung Galaxy Note 9 will pack an 8GB of RAM, this anouncement from Samsung suggests that the flagship smartphone will pack the latest four-channel 8GB LPDDR4X for even better experience. For the camera, Samsung has already teased that it could record ultra slo-motion video with 0.4 seconds at 90fps.

Samsung is most-likely to launch the Galaxy Note 9 on August 9 in New York at its Unpacked event. Leading up to the launch, there have been various leaks revealing pretty much everything about the flagship smartphone, including its design, features and specifications.

Coming to its specifications, recent reports have suggested the Galaxy Note 9 will sport a 6.3-inch AMOLED display with 1440×2960 pixels resolution, and an aspect ratio of 18.5:9. It is said to be powered by Exynos 9810 SoC, and 6GB or 8GB of RAM. The smartphone is also touted to support dual 12-megapixel cameras at the back, and is said to be powered by a 4,000mAh battery. The S Pen this time is also said to be Bluetooth enabled. However, these have just been gathered through rumors and we ll just have to wait for Samsung to unveil the device on August 9.
