According to new reports, the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 could come with a variant that sports a massive 512GB of internal storage. Presently, most smartphones top out at 256GB of internal storage, so this variant could make the Galaxy Note 9 very attractive for buyers looking for plenty of smartphone internal storage. However, there’s a massive caveat to this – the top-end 512GB variant is likely to only launch in South Korea and China. According to a tweet by user @osctws, initial renders and details on the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Note 9 have been spotted online. One of the images shows a variant that sports 512GB of internal storage. However, going by historic trends, Samsung is likely to keep this variant only for key markets where internal storage is a big factor, namely its home market of South Korea, as well as China. Other global markets, including North America, Europe and India, are likely to have the 256GB storage variant as the highest variant. If you’re someone who tends to use a lot of the internal storage on your smartphone, a 512GB might have suited you. However, for most users even 128GB or 256GB might be more than enough, so we aren’t sure if too many people will be bothered by this. A higher storage variant does tend to make more sense in the long run, though.
