Rumors once again are indicating the Galaxy Note 9 might launch earlier than expected. Similar speculations rose around the time of the Galaxy S9 series, but the company stuck to its schedule. However, if the latest reports are anything to go by, we might be seeing the phablet launch as early as July. The decision to have an early launch is likely to be triggered by the disappointing sales of the Galaxy S9 duo. According to the report, Samsung will start producing the OLED panels for the Galaxy Note 9 in April, about two months earlier than the usual, which means the device can be released by July or stretched at max August. As for specifications, the Galaxy Note 9 is likely to be equipped with a 6.38-inch display, slightly bigger than the 6.32-inch display of on the Galaxy Note 8. Recent rumors also indicated that the Galaxy Note 9 will pack a thicker battery compared to its predecessor.
What might come as a disappointment for fans is that the Galaxy Note 9 won’t pack the much-rumored under-display fingerprint sensor. It will be surprising to see the company not including the new-age fingerprint sensing technology which other manufacturers including Vivo, and more recently Huawei have been able to successfully incorporate.

The launch of the Apple’s new iPhone, which will be launched towards the end of the year, is also considered as one of the reasons for the early launch of the Galaxy Note 9. This year, there have been rumors about Apple ditching the notch, which is ironic as the feature is being embraced industry-wide. It is further speculated that there will be three new iPhone models this year, one with a 6.04-inch LCD display, and the other two featuring OLED displays measuring 5.85-inch and 6.46-inch respectively.
