Not much happened in the technology world today and the day went by with some leaks, official teasers about upcoming launches and a smartphone launch by Samsung in the Indian market. The highlight of the was a report stating that Samsung is likely to delay the launch of its upcoming Galaxy Note 9 because the company opted to change the design of the smartphone. Chinese smartphone makers Oppo and Vivo released official teasers for their upcoming devices, the Oppo Find X and the Vivo NEX, respectively. On the software side of things, HMD Global launched the Pro Camera mode for its Nokia 8 smartphone that it launched last year and Samsung launched an update for its AR Emoji feature. Samsung may delay its Galaxy Note 9 because of a design change
Samsung was expected to launch its upcoming flagship, the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 earlier than usual if earlier reports are to be believed. The launch was expected to happen towards the end of July but now new reports are stating that the company will have to delay the launch of the Note 9 by at least two weeks.
The reason for this delay is because of a last-minute design change by the company. Reportedly, Samsung s vice chairman Lee Jae-Yong who was visiting China when he tried out the Vivo and Oppo devices and found that they are easier to hold. He then ordered his team to reduce the thickness by 0.5mm of the glass that covers the display.

Galaxy Note 9 is likely to feature a 6.4-inch display along with a dual-rear camera setup with the dual aperture lens as seen on the Galaxy S9 duo. It is likely to be powered by Snapdragon 845 or Exynos 9810 based on the region along with 8GB of RAM and up to 256GB storage.
Oppo Find X teased; to arrive in India soon
The official Twitter account of Oppo Mobile India posted a teaser stating that a Futuristic Flagship is coming to the market with #OPPOFindX. The accompanying image with the tweet shows an alphabet X shaped logo with the FIND X written below it.
It is likely to compete with the recently launched Vivo X21 in India and may come with specifications such as the in-display fingerprint scanner. There is not much known about the device at the time of writing.
Vivo NEX to launch on June 12
Vivo just released a teaser image for the smartphone, while also confirming that it will be hosting a launch event in Shanghai on June 12. It is said to be the commercial variant of the Vivo Apex, a concept smartphone showcased by the company at MWC 2018.
The image reveals that the phone will be coming with a full-screen display, which is likely to feature a screen-to-body ratio of about 95 percent. It is clear that the Vivo NEX will ditch the notch. Along with that, it also confirms an in-display fingerprint sensor. The image also comes with a tagline that says, What is NEX .
The device is likely to sport Snapdragon 845 SoC and a low-end variant with Snapdragon 710 SoC. The latter is expected to be dubbed as the Vivo NEX S. The listing also reveals that the phone to come with 4GB of RAM and Android 8.1 Oreo.
Pro Camera mode is now available on Nokia 8
HMD Global has finally rolled out the promised Pro Camera mode to its Nokia 8 smartphone. For people who don t know about this mode, the Pro mode brings manual controls to white balance, focus, ISO, shutter speed, and exposure compensation. It highly influenced by the camera on the older Lumia smartphones. One thing to note here is that the adjustments made to the settings will show the difference in real time.
Samsung Galaxy J4 launched in India
Samsung has officially launched its latest budget smartphone called the Galaxy J4 (2018) in India today. Samsung has priced the Galaxy J4 at Rs 9,990 for the 2GB RAM and 16GB internal storage variant and Rs 11,990 for the 3GB RAM and 32GB internal memory variants.
The budget smartphone features a 5.5-inch HD (720 x 1920 pixels) Super AMOLED display, with the standard aspect ratio of 16:9. It is said to be running on an Exynos 7570 1.4GHz quad-core SoC along with an option for expandable storage of 256GB via a microSD card. J4 comes with a 13-megapixel (f/1.9) camera at the back, and a 5-megapixel (f/2.2) camera at the front. The device will also come with 3,000mAh battery.
Samsung launches an update for its AR Emoji
Samsung has issued a new update for its AR Emoji feature bringing the total number of stickers to 36 from the 18 at launch. The new stickers are a part of the camera update, which is available for download on the Galaxy S9 and S9+ from the Galaxy Apps store. Users should be able to see and use the new collection of stickers directly from the keyboard or the Gallery app. Samsung also mentioned in its post that it will add 18 more expressions in the coming months, to bring the total number of stickers to 54.
