Samsung has just unveiled the Galaxy Note 9 smartphone at its Galaxy Unpacked event in New York. While the smartphone comes with a great set of features, one of the its key highlights is the new S-Pen. The handy companion to the Galaxy Note has always been known to make it easier to take notes, draw, sketch and bring creations to life. Now Samsung is adding more to its capabilities by adding Bluetooth functionality to it.
With the new Bluetooth Low-energy (BLE) connectivity, the S-Pen can now even act as remote control for the Galaxy Note 9 from about 10 meters away. It can used to click selfies, play and pause content playing on the smartphone, and even manage presentations. Not just that, there is also an option to customize clicks on the S-Pen to suit your needs. Samsung also promises to bring more features to S-Pen across applications in the future.
Additional the S-Pen can do more now. It can also be used to customize AR Emoji stickers by adding messages or by drawing more elements around them. Now the color of the S-Pen will also extend to the Screen off memo writing option, providing a seamless writing experience. Not just that, the S-Pen features a battery life of 30 minutes and can charge completely in about 40 seconds, thanks to the integrated SuperCapacitor that enables fast charging.

Samsung is also taking capabilities of the S-Pen beyond the Galaxy Note 9 screen. You can draw on the Note 9 and even share creations on a bigger screen using Samsung DeX connectivity. You can even edit files with the S-Pen, when the smartphone is connected to the big screen, in order to make intricate changes when needed.
