It’s been four months since Samsung launched the Galaxy Note Edge. Lots of reports pointed towards the device launch in India in December. However, the latest report comes from Economic Times, which claims that the device will be on sale in the first week of January, and will cost Rs 68,500. Citing executives from Samsung, the report states that the device is likely to retail at Rs 64,900. “India’s always performed amongst the best in the world when it comes to flagship sales,” said Asim Warsi, vice president for mobile and IT at Samsung India. The India launch follows the product being unveiled in key developed markets including the US, South Korea and Japan. Samsung took the wraps of the Galaxy Note Edge in September at its Unpacked event in Berlin, which flaunts a curved display that wraps around the right-hand side. As far as the specifications are concerned, it flaunts a 5.6-inch Super AMOLED display, but with QHD+ resolution, which adds an extra 160 pixels on the third side of the display. It is powered by a 2.7GHz Snapdragon 805 quad-core processor or an Exynos 5433 octa-core processor (1.9GHz quad-core+1.3GHz quad-core), depending upon the region. The phablet also features a 16-megapixel rear camera with OIS, 3.7-megapixel front-facing camera, 32GB internal storage, microSD card slot, and a 3,000mAh battery. On the software front, it runs on Android KitKat wrapped under TouchWiz UI.
