All eyes are on Samsung, which is gearing up to take the wraps off its flagship Galaxy Note7 phablet later tonight. It however seems like we won’t have to wait long for the phablet to arrive in India. Samsung India is set to launch the Galaxy Note7 to India as early as next week on August 11. BGR India reached out to Samsung India, which did not confirm the date. However, a source called the date likely, though it hasn’t been confirmed yet. The launch date was first reported by TechPP. After launching the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge earlier this year, Samsung will be unveiling the Galaxy Note7 phablet later tonight. The launch event will simultaneously take place in New York City, London, and Rio de Janeiro, and it kicks off at 8:30PM IST. We already have a fair idea on what the upcoming phablet will look like and the kind of specifications and features it will boast courtesy of numerous leaks. Here’s everything we know so far. Samsung Galaxy Note7 specifications
The phablet is expected to feature a 5.7-inch QHD (2560×1440 pixels) Super AMOLED dual-edge curved display protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5. It will be powered by either an Exynos 8890 64-bit octa-core processor or Qualcomm s Snapdragon 820 quad-core processor. But looking at the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge, the variant that will launched in India could be powered by the Exynos chipset.
The Samsung Galaxy Note7 is also expected to feature 4GB RAM, 64GB onboard storage, microSD card slot, 12-megapixel Dual Pixel camera at the back, and a 5-megapixel selfie camera. Other features expected are 3,500mAh battery along with fast charging and wireless fast charging support, and connectivity options like 4G LTE support and USB Type-C port.

For security, the phablet is expected to boast a fingerprint scanner embedded into the home button up front, and an iris scanner as well. As is the case with Galaxy Note phablets, this one too will have a bundled S Pen stylus. This new stylus however is expected to feature a slightly tweaked design, as well as improved latency. It is also expected to include features like words translation, and the ability to create GIFs from videos among others.
The Galaxy Note7 is also expected to retain IP68 certification for water and dust resistance with reports claiming that the S Pen could be used underwater as well. Samsung could also be launching a new cloud storage service called ‘Samsung Cloud’, which will offer 5GB of storage free for buyers.
Samsung Galaxy Note7 price
The Samsung Galaxy Note 5 last year was launched for Rs 53,900. This year however, the much advanced Galaxy Note7 is reportedly priced at 850 Euros in France, which translates to Rs 63,000 approximately. However, it remains to be seen whether Samsung prices it more aggressively in India.
