Samsung today launched the Galaxy NotePro tablet at the Samsung Forum event in Indonesia. This is the company’s first 12.2-inch tablet in the market, and it combines a powerful hardware with a number of software features, including some enterprise and business related apps as well. And with all these features, this gigantic tablet has been placed in the premium segment and is priced at a whopping Rs 64,900 in India. The USP of the Samsung Galaxy NotePro tablet is its hardware feature as well as the kind of productivity applications it bring along. To begin with the hardware, the tablet comes with a 12.2-inch WQXGA display with 2560×1600 pixels resolution. With such a resolution size, the display looks brilliant in terms of the visuals, visibility and color reproduction, and the tablet matches up to a 13-inch laptop. Weight-wise, despite carrying such a massive display, it weighs pretty normal, and does not feel that heavy when held in hand. Though holding it even for five minutes is a task. It comes with the Android 4.4 KitKat onboard, which is topped by a number of applications like Samsung e-Meeting and others like Cisco webEx Meetings which can be used for video conferencing and sharing document with a number of people. There are more such productivity apps on the tablet, which add good value to the tablet and serves its purpose as well. Also it has a multi-window multitasking feature, which supports up to four apps.
And to ensure that the tablet runs well while using the heavy UI, Samsung has powered it with the Exynos 5 Octa processor, with 1.9GHz quad-core Cortex-A15 and a 1.3GHz quad-core Cortex-A7 chipset. And to accompany that, there is 3GB of RAM. It comes with 32GB of internal memory, which can be expanded by up to 64GB using a microSD card. In addition to that, you get an additional 50GB of cloud storage valid for two years. It has an 8-megapixel primary camera and a 2-megapixel secondary camera. it houses a 9,500mAh battery, which the company claims will easily provide up to 10 hours of video playback.
In terms of the design, it comes with the Samsung’s faux leather design, which can be seen on most of Samsung’s products including the Galaxy Note 10.1-inch tablet launched recently as well. Besides that, like other members of the Note series, this one too comes compatible with the S-Pen.
