Samsung has been following this trend of launching its Galaxy On series exclusively on Flipkart and Amazon India. Last month, Samsung had launched the Galaxy On8 in India exclusively on Flipkart, and it later went on sale during the Big Billion Days sale. The next smartphone in this lineup is expected to be the Galaxy On Nxt, which will launched on October 20, and it will be a Flipkart exclusive. Not a lot is known about the upcoming smartphone except the launch date. Samsung Galaxy On Nxt specifications
To start with, PhoneRadar has pretty much all details on the specifications and features of the Galaxy On Nxt. The smartphone is expected to feature a 5.5-inch full HD (1920×1080 pixels) display, 2GHz Snapdragon 625 octa-core processor, Adreno 506 GPU, and 3GB of RAM. There is also likely to be 32GB onboard storage, which will be further expandable up to 256GB.
In the photography department, the Galaxy On Nxt is expected to sport a 13-megapixel rear camera with f/1.9 aperture and LED flash. Up front, could be an 8-megapixel selfie camera with f/1.9 aperture as well. The smartphone is expected to be powered by a 3,300mAh non-removable battery and would be equipped with fast charging support.
As for connectivity, the expected options are dual-SIM support and 4G VoLTE support. For software, the Samsung Galaxy On Nxt will probably run on Android Marshmallow but an update to Android Nougat is expected to be available shortly after the launch. Also, the home button on the Galaxy On Nxt is expected to double up as a fingerprint scanner. ALSO READ: Samsung Galaxy A5 (2017) receives Wi-Fi certification, to run on Android 6.0 Marshmallow
Something to be noted here is that the model number of the Galaxy On Nxt is SM-G610F/DD, which interestingly is the same model number as the Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime which was launched last month. Although they differ in terms of the series, it is believed that the Galaxy On Nxt could be an upgraded rendition of the Galaxy J Prime.
Going by the leaked specifications, there are differences between the two smartphones. One is the chipset as the Galaxy J7 Prime is powered by a 1.6GHz Exynos 7870 octa-core processor. The onboard storage in the Galaxy J7 Prime is 16GB but the Galaxy On Nxt is expected to come with 32GB onboard storage. Other than that, both the smartphones retain pretty much the same specifications and features. Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime is also equipped with S Power planning and S Secure feature. The S Power planning feature lets users reserve the smartphone s battery and also extend battery life by choosing the Ultra Power Saving mode or divert calls if the battery power is too low. The S Secure feature lets users create a separate platform to securely save multimedia content and apps. The recently launched Samsung Galaxy On8 also comes with UDS (ultra data saving) and S bike features. These features are prominent on both Galaxy J series smartphones and Galaxy On series smartphones, so the upcoming Galaxy On Nxt is also expected to be pre-loaded with some of the features mentioned above.
As for the pricing, the Galaxy J7 Prime sits at Rs 18,790 and the Galaxy On8 at Rs 15,990. Considering how the Galaxy On series smartphones have stayed between the entry-level and mid-range categories, the Galaxy On Nxt smartphone could follow the trend as well. Speaking about the Galaxy On8 smartphone, with the ongoing festive sales, the smartphone is currently being sold on Flipkart with a discount of Rs 1,000.
