Listed on Amazon India last week, the Samsung Galaxy On7 Prime has launched in India today. The smartphone will be available in two variants 3GB RAM with 32GB internal storage and 4GB RAM with 64GB internal storage. Priced at Rs 12,990, and Rs 14,990 respectively, the smartphone will go on sale January 20 via Amazon India. Buyers will be able to choose from black or gold color variants. The USP of the Galaxy On7 Prime is its Samsung Pay Mini feature that lets you transfer money using wallets by scanning the code. Apart from this, the smartphone also comes with Samsung Mall feature, which lets you search for items across multiple online stores in one app, and also have a unified cart with items across stores. Samsung Galaxy On7 Prime specifications
The Samsung Galaxy On7 prime flaunts a 5.5-inch full HD (1080 1920 pixels) screen and is powered by an octa-core Exynos 7870 SoC clocked at 1.6GHz. Both variants come with a microSD card slot to further expand the internal storage up to 256GB.
For photography, the Galaxy On7 Prime is equipped with a 13-megapixel camera of aperture f/1.9 on the front and back. The rear camera will be backed with an LED flash. On the connectivity front, the smartphone supports 4G, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth v4.1, ANT+, Micro-USB 2.0, and a 3.5mm audio jack. On the software front, the smartphone runs Android OS out-of-the-box. The smartphone also comes with a physical home button just below the display, which acts as a fingerprint scanner too.
In terms of competition, the smartphone will face tough competition from the likes of Xiaomi Mi A1 and Honor 7X. The smartphones are priced at Rs 14,999 and Rs 12,999 respectively.
In terms of specifications, the Xiaomi Mi A1 features a 5.5-inch full HD (1080p) display with an aspect ratio of 16:9, while the Honor 7X, features a 5.93-inch full HD+ display with an aspect ratio of 18:9. Under the hood, the Mi A1 is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 octa-core SoC and the Honor 7X is powered by Huawei s Kirin 659 octa-core SoC.
The Mi A1 comes with a pair of 12-megapixel cameras at the back with 2X optical zoom and portrait mode for DSLR-like bokeh effects. Up front, you get a 5-megapixel camera for selfies and video calling. The Honor 7X, on the other hand, comes with a combination of 16-megapixel and 2-megapixel sensors. There is an 8-megapixel front camera for selfies.
On the software front, Xiaomi s Mi A1 runs stock Android 7.1.2 Nougat OS out-of-the-box, whereas Honor 7X runs on Android 7.0 Nougat-based EMUI 5.1 OS. Xiaomi Mi A1 users have started getting Android 8.0 Oreo update.
