Samsung’s latest and greatest Android smartphone – the Galaxy S II – is set to wash up on Indian shores in May and we were lucky enough to spend a few moments with the masterpiece. Yup, the Galaxy S II will be the best droid you will be able to lay your hands on till the end of this year and we won’t be surprised if it does better than its predecessor – the Galaxy S. The 4.3-inch Super AMOLED Plus display is among the best we have seen and easily outshines (literally) those found on the HTC Desire HD and even the Sony Ericsson XPERIA Arc. It certainly looks brighter and vibrant than the Galaxy S’s Super AMOLED display. Despite having a large display, the Galaxy S II has just the right proportions to fit comfortably in the palm. It is almost 2 mm narrower and slimmer than the HTC Desire HD. Also Read - MWC reveals the nominees: Phones & Tablets that are battling it out for the top spot

In the few minutes we tinkered with the device, we could feel the sheer prowess of its 1.2 GHz dual-core processor. Things moved at a fairly fast clip and we can only hope that Android Market gets some graphics intensive games to utilize it in the coming weeks and months. While Samsung won’t tell us the exact launch price but we are told it would be in the vicinity of Rs 35,000. Slightly steep, in our opinion, but the overall package is pretty tempting.
