A couple of weeks ago we reported that Samsung was planning a more sturdy version of the Galaxy S4 which would be waterproof, called the Galaxy S4 Active. Today, GSMArena is reporting that some benchmark results of the Galaxy S4 Active have surfaced that reveal it runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Plus processor. Benchmarks of the US bound AT&T version were revealed on the GFXBench results database and it appears that it is neither running on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 CPU, nor the Exynos 5 Octa CPU, like the Galaxy S4. It runs on a dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon Plus processor clocked at 1.9GHz. Additionally, it retains the 1080p 5-inch Super AMOLED display as the Galaxy S4. It is also running on the latest version of Android 4.2.2. Also Read - Alleged photos of Samsung Galaxy S 4 Active leak
Looks like, Samsung is continuing its trend of launching numerous devices under the Galaxy S4 branding. But as usual it is cutting corners in terms of the processor tech, which means if this device is real it will not be as efficient as the Galaxy S4.
