Samsung recently begun rolling out OTA updates of Android Lollipop for its flagship Galaxy S5. Now, Samsung’s Finnish website suggests that the company has plans to roll out Lollipop for its older models as well. According to the page, the Samsung is rolling out Android 5.0 Lollipop update for the Galaxy S4 and the Galaxy Note 3 as well. First spotted by GSMArena, the page also indicates that the Galaxy Note 2, which was launched in September 2012, is also listed for an update. The page also tells us that the Galaxy S5 Mini is in the line for getting the update. However, the Galaxy S5 is not listed on this site. The Galaxy Alpha and Galaxy S4 are also in line. This information comes as a pleasant surprise, as Samsung traditionally, tends to support its devices for only two years or two major updates. So seeing names like Galaxy Note 3, Galaxy Note 2 and Galaxy S4 are celebration-worthy. Nothing has been officially confirmed by Samsung however, so it’s too early to be elated. As mentioned earlier, the SM-G900F model of the Samsung Galaxy S5 started receiving Lollipop updates in the first week of December. You can see how it looks on the device here. The rollout has not yet happened in India. We hope to see Lollipop updates for Samsung flagships soon.
