Samsung is widely believed to be taking the wraps off the Galaxy S6, as well as a variant of the flagship with a curved display at MWC. While there is still time for the event, Vodafone Netherlands have spilled the beans on both the forthcoming devices, AndroidWorld reports. Vodafone Netherlands accidentally put up a placeholder page that mentions the Samsung Galaxy S6. The publication dug through the source code of the particular page, and found another device mentioned with the name “Samsung Galaxy S Edge.” The Edge in the name confirms that this is the curved display variant. The name makes sense, since the first Edge smartphone was called the Galaxy Note Edge, and not Galaxy Note 4 Edge. Also Read - Samsung Galaxy F23 5G gets Copper Blush color in India
The placeholder, not surprisingly, is very light on details and reveals nothing besides the names. But last week, our colleagues at BGR Classic revealed a detailed list of specifications and features the forthcoming flagship device is set to boast. The Galaxy S6 will feature a 5.1-inch Quad HD Super AMOLED display (577ppi), with Gorilla Glass 4 protection. It will be powered by a 64-bit octa-core 14nm CPU, which is said to be 50 percent faster than last year’s flagship device. Additionally, the smartphone will also include a 5-megapixel f/1.8 selfie camera, 32/64/128GB internal storage, 2,550mAh battery with fast charging mode and wireless charging capabilities, NFC, and Cat 6 LTE support. As for design, gone are the plastic materials, and the flagship device will instead boast a metal and glass body.
There is however little information on the Galaxy S Edge variant. From what we have heard so far, unlike the Galaxy Note Edge, the display on the Galaxy S Edge is said to be curved on both sides, enabling it to show notifications and other information on both sides.
As we have reported before, the South Korean giant has sent outinvites for a March 2 event at MWC in Barcelona where it will unveil the Galaxy S6.
